Why Was Life On Mars Cancelled…….?
Hey folks! So here is another of our favorite show that has faced the axe. I hope the decision makers at ABC have not gone crazy as there can be no other sensible explanation of the cancellation of one good show after another. First it was Pushing Daisies, followed by Eli Stone and then Dirty Sexy Money. And now the latest to fall victim to the untimely cancellation spree is Life on Mars. I don’t believe what has gone into the heads of people at ABC as they have been axing every good show in their list. Hey, will you people wake up to the reality that these are really popular shows that you have just because of your stupidity pulled off the air!
Reportedly, Life on Mars tv show will continue airing its remaining episodes so as not to give a cliffhanger ending to the series, if that is any consolation at all. According to ABC the reason behind the cancellation of Life on Mars was that it did not get very good ratings. But then I blame that to the network’s decision of changing the airing time halfway through the series. Probably the series would have done much better had it been retained in its original time slot when it was paired with Lost! This is what angers me most. First the network for no apparent reason, decides to change the time slot of a series that is settling in and then when the series fails to get good ratings in its new time slot, it is cancelled.
This is not the first show that has been cancelled due to this nonsensical attitude and I am sure this is not going to be the last. But, this is definitely one of my favorite shows and I am really upset about the way it is being dumped. I have loved every aspect of Life on Mars, be it the storyline, the performance of the actors, the direction or the creativity. I have loved awesome soundtrack and felt creepy when its weird robots crept out of people’s eyes. I have felt disturbed by the over-the-top police brutality and occasional vaudevillian fisticuffs and have been entertained by its snappy dialogue and the oh-so-relaxed attitude. I am definitely going to miss Life on Mars badly.
I am so disappointed that this show has been cancelled. It is the best, most creative show that I have seen on TV in long time. The music is great as are the characters, the whole idea behind the show, the actors, etc. I just don’t understand this move by ABC. They haven’t even given the show enough time to really build a fan base. All of the other shows that they are now advertising look completely uninteresting. I really looked forward to watching LOM every week. I am really upset with ABC. I may even boycott them.

This show was the thinking persons tv show and that is why i think it was cancelled. The public wants to just turn on the tv and be entertained and not think. I will buy this on dvd and it will be one of my most cherished. Every one connected with the show did a fantastic job and i would like to thank everyone involved for super high quality entertainment. Harvey was the best and should get an award. You are gone but, not forgoten. THANKS.
