Annie dresses up as a nurse and attempts to gain access to the office where a local newspaper handyman decides to take hostages in an effort to get his life story published causing the capture of Annie, Gene, and Sam by the suspect.  Sam believes that he must prevent the hostage-taker from doing anything drastic when the kidnapper’s deadline coincides with the exact time in 2006 that Sam’s life support machines are scheduled to be turned off in an attempt to save himself.
