Season 1

The show begins on 9^th of October, 2008 with episode “Out Here in the Fields”. The show also prepared the pilot episode titled “Hit and Run”, but it was not aired. Every episode starts with a monologue from Sam, where he describes his situation. In the first episode, Sam Tyler and his on and off the job partner, NYPD Detective Maya Daniels, are close to catching a murderer Colin Raimes. But later on Raimes is released on a strong alibi. Daniels decides to track him down all alone and goes missing. While Sam is searching for her, he is hit by a car and wakes up in 1973.

In further episodes, he constantly tries to figure out how and why he has arrived back in time. He finds himself in the middle of an investigation of robbery and homicides cases. In third episode, Sam gets some clues about his own past and it seems that he would now know why he is in 1973. In next episode, he investigates into assault on a young woman by a local gangster; this is his mother. In fifth episode, Sam encounters a young officer named Fletcher Bellow, who is his mentor in the year 2006. Bellow doesn’t recognize him and they work together on a case. The sixth episode aired is “Tuesday’s Dead”. Here Sam is stuck in a life and death hostage situation, which is similar to his own circumstances. Here a gunman is forcing a doctor to operate on his brother. The episode seven titled “The Man Who Sold the World” will be aired on 20^th of November, 2008. Here Sam Tyler learns that his father might be involved in kidnapping of a child. He also tries to discover that why his father had left the town in 1973. Sam thinks that probably, he has been sent in the past to help his father.
